Embracing Every Season of Life

A LIFE SHAPED BY CURIOSITY AND CARE

I’m Shubneet Kaur, a poet, writer, artist and dietitian. I have been drawn to creative expression since childhood. Before I knew where writing might lead, I was filling pages with thoughts, poems and paintings small attempts to make sense of what I noticed and felt. Seeing some of that early work published in newspapers encouraged me to keep creating.

Over the years, I found two paths that continue to shape my life. My work as a dietitian has taught me to listen to people, understand their everyday challenges and value the small choices that support well-being. Writing has given me another way to listen to my own thoughts, to the world around me and to experiences we often struggle to put into words.

Poetry has always felt especially close to me. I love its simplicity and its depth: a few lines can hold a memory, an unanswered question or a feeling that someone else instantly recognises. Nature is a constant source of inspiration, as are the changing seasons of our lives the hopeful beginnings, the difficult passages and the moments of quiet renewal.

My debut poetry collection, Flight Feathers, brought many of those reflections together. Sharing the book with readers has shown me that writing is both personal and shared. A poem may begin with one person’s experience, but it can find a new meaning in the hands of someone else. This website is a place to share that continuing journey: the words I write, the things that inspire me and the moments that remind me to keep looking closely at life.

Three quiet principles.

i.

Notice the little things

Inspiration rarely announces itself. I find it in an ordinary conversation, a change in the light, the colours of a new place or a moment of stillness. Paying attention to these details helps me stay curious and gives my writing an honest place to begin.

ii.

Make room for feeling

Joy, uncertainty, longing and hope are all part of being human. I believe we connect more deeply when we allow ourselves to acknowledge those feelings. Poetry offers me a gentle space to explore them without needing to have every answer.

iii.

Share with kindness

Words can make someone feel seen. Whether I am writing a poem, speaking with a reader or working with someone on their well-being, I try to begin with care. I hope what I share here offers a moment of comfort, reflection or connection.

Our Philosophy

GROWING THROUGH EVERY SEASON

Life is always changing, and each season asks something different of us. Some invite us to begin; others ask us to pause, let go or find our way forward. I draw inspiration from nature because it makes room for all of these changes. Nothing blooms all year, yet every stage has its own purpose and beauty.

That thought runs through my writing and the way I approach life. I believe in caring for ourselves, staying open to what we feel and finding meaning in the moments we might otherwise pass by. Through poetry, art and the stories shared here, I hope to create a space where you can slow down, reflect and recognise something of your own journey.
